An engagement and a hope to visit again.

We spent an all-too-short weekend in Washington DC. Highlights include Arlington Cemetery, Ford’s Theater, and a variety of monuments. Downside: it’s a whole lot of walking. This is a high-placed location on my re-do list, mostly because we went on a weekend and so much was closed. A lot of our adventuring included outdoor spaces that were open weather-permitting, and we learned the hard way that DC is not walkable, at least not as much as Philly or Boston. Because there is so much in terms of open space for monuments, there’s a lot of endless sidewalk to somewhere before you get to your destination. I’d love to see the many museums and government facilities next time we’re there (and the zoo!!!) -G
