A long drive, but a cool trip.

If you like trains, Steamtown is the place for you. Seeing in-person restored trains and a massive museum was great. We hope to go back soon now that the museum has been updated. The drive was pretty long, but I’d say it was worth it if you’re a train enthusiast. Just be prepared to bring a lunch, since there weren’t a whole lot of places with food offerings nearby, and understand that the official NHP is much more interesting than the roadside offering across the parking lot. -G

Also, they have one of two 4-8-8-4 Union Pacific Big Boys in the world. Good ol’ number 4012. When we were there you could climb up and sit in the cab, which was definitely on Brian’s bucket list. Now to find a spot to do that with an Grumman F-14 Tomcat…
